How To Transfer Files From PC To Android Phone Using WiFi :
Before starting this guide I would like to mentioned the required app & software for your android phone and PC. the following app & software is required to complete this procedure :
- SwiFTP (My Personal Download Link) (Google Play Link). [As its not showing on Google Play]
- FileZilla (Download Link) or any other FTP Client. (Optional)
So without wasting much time let’s start with the tutorial assuming that you have already installed both above mentioned app and software. now open the SwiFTP app in your android mobile and you will see the home screen or it will land you on the setup page, If you are on home screen then click on Setup button :
Enter you desired Username and Password and save this information. now go to the main window and and you will find 3 buttons Start, Instruction and Setup. click on start button and this will start the SwiFTP and this will allow you to transfer file from PC to Android phone using WiFi. once you have clicked on Star button you will get a screen something like this :
From above screen note down the value of “WiFi URL” which is something like this ftp://192.168.2.100:2121.
Now you can transfer file from PC to Android in two ways :
- Using FileZilla.
- Windows Inbuilt Option.
I will be covering both the part so it depends on you which one is good for you, I normally use FileZilla.
Using FileZilla :
First open the FileZilla and go to File >> Site Manager and add New Site here. It will ask you for some values so put the below mentioned values in that respective fields :
- Host : The WiFi URL you got from SwiFTP (without port number).
- Post : The port number (probably 2121).
- Logon Type : Normal.
- User : Enter your SwiFTP username.
- Password : Enter your SwiFTP Password.
Now press the ok button and connect it, there are chances that it will not get connected in first attempt so try it for 2-3 time and make sure the WiFi and SwiFTP is running. once it’s connected it will show you all the directories/folders of your android phone and just drag and drop your files from PC to Android Phone and it will get transferred quickly. see the below screenshot of FileZilla :
Using Windows Inbuilt Function :
In this procedure there is no need of Third Part software like FileZilla or other you can just use the inbuilt function of Windows to transfer files from your PC to Android Device. follow the below mentioned steps to do so :
Go to My Computers >> click on Tools >> Click on Map Network Drive :
This will pop up a box something like the below, just click on signup for online storage or connect to a network server in the below :
Now it will show another box just click on “Next” and it will show you a box something like this, just click on Next and move ahead :
Now it will ask you for “Internet or Network Address” just add the WiFi URL which you got from SwiFTP and enter it here, for example like this :
And click on “Next”, in next box make sure that “Log on anonymously” is checked and after that click on Next. now it will ask you to enter a name for this network here you can enter whatever name you want like the name of your device or whatever you like after that click on “Next” and lastly click on “Finish“.
Conclusion :

Useful post, but the simplest way to transfer files wirelessly that i have been using for a while is “Dropbox”. Try it out at dropbox.com

I know DropBox is the best option but you have to upload file from your PC to dropbox and then from your dropbox account to your Android, so instead of doing all this directly transfer your file from PC to android using this method

Ya I know Dropbox is also good but for that you have to first transfer your file to it and after that from Dropbox to your android so it’s better to straight away transfer your file directly from PC to Android.

If you are talking about online Sync then Google Drive is best option after Dropbox
