Does Windows 8 Tablets have some serious features to compete with Android/ iOS Tabs?
Android Tablets are available in a varied range of $100 to $1000 and boasts of 600K plus apps for their Tablet. iPad is also not much behind they have already launched the 3rd Generation iPad and boasts 225K app and games available. Right now, Windows Phone and Tablet market is young compared to Android and iOS platforms and features 100K apps. Windows 8 has also joined hands on Nokia and NAVTEQ to bring the latest maps with 3D buildings, Offline caching, Dynamic routing, Traffic updates, Turn by turn navigation and much more to compete with Google maps keeping aside the iOS maps that are handicapped for many users. Windows already eyed the Facebook Fan base and this resulted into a seamless integration of status updates, images, contacts, chat, events into Microsoft’s own section [people, Messaging, calendar]. The interface is very well designed and present some serious threat to Android and iOS.
The list does not ends here, there are many more features you will love to have. I just wanted to make clear that Microsoft has done enough research to create a cool OS that can bring some genuine features and serious competition in the market. We also came to know that Intel and Microsoft have partnered together to create a better mobile processor that will be powerful yet consuming low power. There will be more than 20 Windows 8 Tablet launched by 2013 first quarter. There are leaks that Acer and Asus will be launching some budget priced Windows Tablet that will range around $250.
