3 Free Apps for Finding your Lost Android

Posted on Apr 15 2012 - 4:00pm by Chintak Dholakia

Recently when i was on a tour to Mumbai for participating in international exhibition, i was travelling in local train. And there, i lost my lovely Android phone and i learnt a big lesson out of it. I never configured my android for securing it incase of theft and that really made a big hole in my pocket. When i bought the new Android, first time i did was to install anti-theft applications and i want to share top 3 applications [ and they are free! ]

The following is the list of 3 applications which you should install in your Android:

1. AndroidLost

1 3 Free Apps for Finding your Lost Android

As the name suggest, Androidlost is one of the best anti-theft application for Android i have come across.

Features of this applications:

  • Track your phone remotely from their website: www.androidlost.com
  • Application cannot be uninstalled from your Mobile (So, thief cannot uninstall it and thereby you can track it)
  • Do not worry, there’s a method to uninstall it! (theives wont know it and before they come to know, you will track them up!)
  • Speak Up command – It speaks loudly whatever text has been given on Androidlost.com
  • Tracking via network/GPS, sending Alarms, sending texts, tracking the numbers the thief is calling, erasing your data remotely and many many features.
  • Its FREE!

You can download it from Google Play: Click here

2. Call Tracker

One unadvantage of Androidlost is that, it requires internet connection on your phone to be active, (although remotely, you can switch on internet connection if thief shuts it down in your phone), still if you want to catch your thief by tracking his location on GPS, then Call Tracker is best application to download for.

The following are the features of Call Tracker:

  • Locates your phone by tracking the Call network (You can track the sim location of caller’s place)
  • First thing, thief will do is to remove your sim card and insert his own. But,even if he makes call from his own sim card, the GPS will automatically get activated and you can track down his location.
  • This application starts GPS automatically on every call and thus you can track this.
  • You will require password to access this application and thereby, thief cannot access it

Tip: When you install, go in Call tracker application > Settings and uncheck “Turn On Service” but please check ” Start on Boot” .

So, in this settings, GPS will not get activated on your every calls and this application will stop working but it will start working after rebooting(as thief will switch off cell to remove sim card and when he switches on, the application will be active)

This will help you save battery as the phone will be with you and this application will come handy in case of theft.

You can download it from Google Play: Click here

3. Plan B
